It could certainly have been edited down to less, or with links to references. I practiced kundalini from an ancient yogic approach for over 15 years, and that included 3 years in Nepal and India.
Guest guest
Thank you for sharing Ed. I think what is natural differs from person to person. So one has to follow one’s own heart to be comfortable. Kundalini when it rises from the base does not have to go through chakras. If the three granthis are broken by the Shakti (in the base, then in the heart and then in the forehead, the Shakti can go directly to Sahasarara by passing all chakras and then come down front taking the mind and the prana and merge in the Spiritual Heart. That is one possibility but there are many others. If one wants to experience the energies of the different chakras, one can bring one’s awareness there. Kundalini has a back path and a front path and a path that goes beyond the back and front and merges in the Self. There are literally hundreds of ways and methods to approach Shakti Yoga. The common element is that of bringing consciousness to bear on the chakra through mantra or visualization and some use the help of pranayama as well. Many beautiful experiences and visions are possible by focusing on chakras. That is all well and good and according to one’s inclinations. These are all experiences. Who is the consumer of these experiences? It is the ego or the individual entity. There is nothing wrong with the consumption of experience. It is the nature of things. For Self-Realization, that which consumes experiences, is itself consumed by the Heart. Therefore, Sri Ramana said that if one is satisfied with consumption, one can leave all things aside and be aware of the consumer and focus on the consumer of experiences. When the consumer is consumed by the Heart, then all experiences, no matter how captivating and beautiful, are known to have their time and place. They are given life and reality only by the Heart.
