Namaste,

As one has only to do one's best, and all is energy or food eating

food anyway. One has to try and put as much Ahimsa into practice as

possible. Vegetables don't have the same complex nervous system as

animals although they do react to stimuli--there is only one

consciousness in illuson.

I personally don't eat meat because of the fact an animal has to be

badly treated, tortured and murdered to supply it to me.

They say they can now grow a steak in the laboratory, perhaps that

will close down the slaughterhouses were the greatest holocaust in

history goes on everyday. People can then satisfy the desire

samskara of meat eating.

Ramana always advised people to wean themselves off eating meat,

right from the first books that were written on him. However with

Ramana one always has to look to his audience at the time, for he

was a Jivanmukta and therefore reflected their own minds back to

them.

I know there is no point in condeming or even really discussing meat

eating with a meat eater, for they kind of suffer from the cognitive

disorder of 'true believer syndrome' of their own ideas of meat

eating.

What really never ceases to amaze me is how people can sit and eat

the decaying flesh of dead animals and conveniently ignore how it

fetidly arrived on their plate. The ego is so strong it filters out

the suffering animal in favour of meat addiction and sense

enjoyment. There is definately some cognitive disconnect going on

here......Perhaps a form of cognitive

dissonance...........ONS....Tony.
