Guest guest
Thanks Sam, Yosy, Josie, and all for your encouragement about the community blog. I think the time has come. I am a little slow sometimes and so appreciate any ideas. Perhaps I can brainstorm with you all in terms of how to accomplish it. 1. First we need resources, blog software and server. I already have that with www.typepad.com. It is the "best of the best" hosting site for blogs and is very easy for complete novices to the web to set up their blog and post pictures and write whatever articles or essays they want and when they want and have it appear right away. It is an incredibly easy self-publishing system. So we have this part fully covered and have the resources to do it. It would be easy for anyone to start their blog on this system and start publishing on it right away. 2. We need an overall person or a team to help manage it. Probably Joyce, the editor of the HS mag would do it but she is already stretched and even if Joyce agree, she would need assistance. So this part is not covered. We need a few people who are long time members and understand the spirit behind the sangha and the e-magzine and have the enthusiasm and the time to share their wisdom and writings (and poetry and art with others) on the HS community blog. We have such massive talent here with Michael Bowes, Antoine, TG, Michael Bindel, Jill, Gloria, Sam, David, Josie, Yosy, Bob, Zenbob, way too many people for me to mention. So I think having a team managing the project would be good. The writings of the sangha members and sharing of their experiences can also encourage other sangha members (if they are so inclined) to do the same. Of course, we would have to be selective and first assign accounts to sangha members we all have known for a while and come to respect their perspective. Your thoughts and ideas on how to proceed are appreciated. Essentially, I envision the project using the collective talent of the sangha to make the wisdom we all share on a daily basis more available and in a sense more alive because blogs can be updated in one second. As soon as you write it, you can post it. I am reminded of that line in the movie. Build it and they will come. Guest guest
Dear Harsha and All, I would like to participate in the Blog. I appreciate the group here at . Having participated in many online groups over the years, I feel more at home here than anywhere. That being said, I am also very, very, very busy with work. This is why I don’t post more than I do. But something that I would like to mention about being extremely engaged in everyday work is that I am not distracted by it. I feel very much at peace with life and the world. This is a topic that has arisen many times in discussions with Sri Ramana and other great spiritual personages – Is it possible to rest in the peace of bliss and consciousness while engaged in worldly activities? And the answer is Yes. There is hope for all irrespective of their particular mundane circumstances. Still there are only so many hours in the day and so my time for communication with others is limited. A blog would allow me to express myself without having to engage in discussion that I don’t always have time for. Please let me know how I may help.
