Guest guest
This is a very well prepared web site. I enjoyed the Mahavir stories very much, but then again, everything I ever read about Mahavir was inspiring and thought provoking. Because your teacher, Gurudev does not dress in fancy attire, does that make him a Plain Jain? (Just had to ask that, Harsha!) Guest guest
of the time. Jains in India tend to be very successful enterprenuers and businessmen. So I am sure many of them are very impressive dressers. However, for monks, wearing flashy clothes would not make sense. The Digambara sect of Jain monks do not wear any clothes at all and walk about naked. Flashy clothes would be a moot point in that sect. The Swetambar sect of Jain monks to which my teacher belonged wear white clothes. So yes, one could call them Plain Jains. Yes, you are a funny guy Zenbob! Sam, here is the website. http://www.jainmeditation.org/ HarshaOn 1/5/06, zen2wrk (AT) aol (DOT) com <zen2wrk (AT) aol (DOT) com> wrote: This is a very well prepared web site. Oh, I have always loved those pure white jackets and long, tailored shirts with the upright collars! Where can I find some of these items? I keep having a reoccuring dream where I am wearing such a jacket and shirt, with white slacks. I normally do not wear white, unless practicing karate, or perhaps of course, the white business shirt, or white slacks with a more colorful shirt. Of course, I still must slim down another 40 pounds or so.
