in the beginning

in the endless space of awareness

i was a word

i answered to

a name of recognition

and memory

soon i fell silent

in the question of who i am,

my own distant shore, my own Lover

for there is no other,

never was,

never will be

how can there be two?

a me and a not you?

and if, in the course of water and

my own womb of tranquility, i should

meet thee,

i shall call upon myself and

love thee,

My Beloved

are identified with their personal separate ego, and not with The Mind

of Christ. To turn the other cheek would be to first recognize that

once they have been graced with the conscious ability to put on The

Mind of Christ, they can, when they feel attacked, simply turn their

consciousness to their nondualistic identity - where it is impossible

to take anything personally, because there is no person as their

primary identity. There is only Christ Consciousness. If one feels

the "sting" of personal attack, then for certain, they have allowed

their personal ego, the false or secondary self, to slip back into

their primary personal "identity". Having felt the sting, they can

use it as a cue, and be snapped back into their true identity, their

"I-I" as Ramana called it, their Awakened, Realized, Enlightened

Self, their Mind of Christ. Having put on

The Mind of Christ, one "naturally" (being naturally enlightened)

walks in love, and does not, because they cannot, take anything

personally. They have died to self and Awakened to Christ or Cosmic

Consciousness. If one simply talks the talk, does not walk the walk,

and has only learned to "sound" Awakened, Enlightened and Realized,

then this capacity escapes them. Typically the pretenders spend a

lot of time talking about phenomenon and their personal "talks" with

God, and they easily feel attacked, because they consciousness is one

of defense - knowing they are vunerable to being "found out". Tough

love, tough gurus, sometimes will "strike the cheek" of a student to

point out to them that they are in their ego. Slap happy, Jeff

I love the way you phrased

your response. I feel strongly

that Jesus never intended to

establish an "exclusive" club,

but rather an openness to

Satchitananda by any name -

the experiential core of all

religions and spiritual

traditions - with or without

the trappings of theistic

language.

Ah, so it is...

The body of Christ is the communion of Soul and Spirit on the path of

One's life, the mystical marriage of I and Thou.

just This....

Ana

Thanks Jeff :-) It is of course easier to institutionalise Jesus to a

Does anyone have the quote about Jesus working in other realms,

implying there are others unnoticed by the people of the era he lived

and perhaps different from our realm of perception as well with whom

Jesus fosters love?

This isn't my religion so I don't know how to frame the words with

internal institutional terminology. Flourishingly,Dharma

"I have other sheep you know not of."

Jesus was speaking to his disciples

and using a shepherd and his sheep as

a metaphor for the guru/chela relationship.

Dear yosy,

How can we

gather here and be with one another if we don’t use words?

It may be true

that our preference may be silence; but here in this cyberplace we have to be

among another with words or perhaps pictures.

I am sorry dear

friend. Although I am well versed in the Christian scriptures, I don’t

think that I can identify what you’re referring to.

Helping you "Say It With Panache!"

Because, how you say it can

be, and often is,

as important as what you want to convey,

and what you have to say is

very important to you.

My wife (a devotee of Yogananda) also reminded

me of Jesus' words, "In my Father's house

are many mansions."

Talking without walking

is just plain talk.

But in truth there is only this walk.

Nothing else.

Not even talk.

:)

Wanderer, your footsteps are

the road, and nothing more;

wanderer, there is no road,

the road is made by walking.

By walking one makes the road,

and upon glancing behind

one sees the path

that never will be trod again.

Wanderer, there is no road--

Only wakes upon the sea.

Caminante, son tus huellas

el camino, y nada más;

caminante, no hay camino,

se hace camino al andar.

Al andar se hace camino,

y al volver la vista atrás

se ve la senda que nunca

se ha de volver a pisar.

Caminante, no hay camino,

sino estelas en la mar.

(Antonio Machado)
