Guest guest
Reply by Devi_bhakta Dakinic Monk, you are making a lot of work for me! However, to labor on Devi's behalf is a privilege; I am not complaining. I like it. I realize that you consider your posts to be revelatory warnings for Goddess worshipers who conceive and/or approach Her differently than you do. But may I request for a final time that you state your views in a more respectful manner? You have largely ignored my last two requests; please do not ignore this one as well. Latest example: Having previously dismissed the shastras you don't care for as "petty books" that are "written by drunks," you now turn to the scripture known as Devi Mahatmyam ("Glorification of Goddess"), saying that it too is worthless, a derivative work of fiction based on the Book of Esther in the Judeo-Christian Old Testament. Now, you have every right to believe that theory (I'll post on why I *don't* believe it in a moment). But it is not respectful, nor does it show particularly good judgment, to attack that scripture in a forum that is dedicated to promoting all forms of Goddess worship, and is largely populated by Hindu Shaktas - for millions of whom the Devi Mahatmyam is considered (and has been for the last 1,500 years or so) as sacred as the Holy Bible is for Christians, or the Koran for Muslims. Since your ego has been long-since burned away, as you note, you will surely take no personal offense when I state that this club exists as a forum not only for your views, but for the divergent views of all members. And while hurling intentionally provocative verbal grenades is certainly an effective way to get peoples' attention and ensure a lively response, it eventually -- like a loud, obnoxious party guest -- becomes most tiresome and succeeds only in emptying the room.
