Hi Dakinic Monk:

1. You note once again, "The goddess Mahishamardini was in fact the

goddess esther."

I note once again, Esther is not a Goddess.

2. You write, "No offense Devi_bhaktha but if u refer to the

aramaic

texts regarding Esther then you would say other wise"

I would love to enlighten myself by reviewing the "Aramaic texts"

of

Esther with you; unfortunately, there aren't any. Aramaic did not

emerge as a written, literary language until several centuries

after

Esther was composed.

3. You note, "Lets just put it this way History is does not always

speak accurately."

You're right to say that not all of Esther made it into the Bible

that's

come down to us; six episodes were left out as inauthentic. They

appear in the Apocrypha, however, and out of curiosity I reviewed

them tonight -- but still no Devi-Buffalo parallels. The cut-out

material

mainly concerns details on the Jewish Purim ritual.

Monk, I'm honestly not riding you on this; I'm simply a great

partisan

of Devi Mahatmyam, and am very interested to learn all I can about

its

textual history. It may not sound very "devotional"; but such

studies

greatly enhance my feeling for the text. That's the way my head

works.

We're all different.

3. You note, "There is not such goddess that came on earth with a

million hands and killed a demon that was all supposed to be

symbolic."

If that's what the gods are telling you, who am I to argue? I think

the

value of any mythology is in its symbolism anyway.

4. "I have caused a lot of doubts with all of u and am sorry for

that.

You guys do whatever path suits u."

Please rest assured that you've not caused me a single doubt. I was

simply interested by some of your assertions and wanted to learn

more. I've appreciated the debate.

Aum Maatangyai Namahe
