Shanti Om - everyone!

I see the use of vermillion noted frequently in the many notes in the

club and looked into what it was. It apparently is not a spice but a

pigment of a red kind. But where does a person purchase vermillion?

Or look for vermillion powder to use as an offering? Is it really a

pigment as opposited to a spice? I have turmeric available to me

would this or could this be used in the place of vermillion for the

offering process of rice flour and "vermillion"?

The next quesiton is where do people find small offering bowls

specifically for this offering use? Is there a specific kind? Should

it be made out of a specific material? Is there a web site or

individual who has access to these offering bowls on the web to

contact? I was looking at the possibilities for the future for my

shrine area.

Just questions that popped up for me. I am sorry the club area left

so quickly and I am thankful the club was able to come so quickly to

this site for all of us and thankful for all the hard work that has

gone into it. Like the moving of a Shrine and Sangha to a new

mountain!

Greetings YeShe_O

But where does a person purchase vermillion? Or look for vermillion

powder to use as an offering? The next quesiton is where do people

find small offering bowls specifically for this offering use? Is

I really wish I can help you on this YeShe. Where I am right now, I

just go to the Indian Shop and get all my supplies for prayers [more

of a one-stop groceries shop]. I hope other members might be able to

help YeShe with this.

Your question about bowl: personally in my opinion there is no

specific type of bowl that you can use for offerings. As long as it

is

clean and not being use for other daily utensils. Usually I separate

these utensils: for prayers and daily use. It dosent have to be a

bowl. You can use a try for your offerings.
