Guest guest
Namaste List, This is an interesting question. And as a devotee of the Divine Mother and a man. It is something that I find myself thinking about a lot. Well, the way that it happened for me was rather spontaneous. By nature, Im a bit abstract and heady and intellectual. Traditions like Advaita Vedanta appealed to me more than Bhakti etc. In fact I had an aversion to any sort of personifications and deities etc. About 5 years ago I was in a very difficult phase of my life spiritually, emotionally, financially, you name it.I just seemed to be stuck going over the same terrain again and again. One day I (half heartedly) prayed to Devi and asked Her for insight into the real nature of my problems and I asked Her for healing and assistance. I felt a little silly doing it. I put it out of my mind and went on about my day. Within half and hour of that prayer I ran into someone that I hadnt seen in a long time. We chatted and during the course of the conversation, he said something to me out of the blue that gave me the key to understanding of a horrible emotional trauma that I had been suffering form for years. I felt my "heart open" in that instant and felt an amazing sense of freedom and relief that I had not felt in years. Within the next few months, many of the other issues slowly began to drop off or cleared themselves up. I converted to the Worship of the Divine Mother that very moment and placed my head at Her Lotus Feet and I have never been the Same. ~Sunelectric Yaa Devi Sarva Bhooteshu Tushti Roopena Samsthita Namastasyai Namastasyai Namastasyai Namo Namaha Salutations again and again to the Devi who resides in all beings in the form of contentment.
