Guest guest
dear members, i received this response from one of our respected members -vnathan4342 - "vnathan14342" <vnathan14342 "adi_shakthi16" <adi_shakthi16 Men and the Goddess (Re: S/S?) 1. There is one contradiction in this story. After having immolated Herself in the sacrificial fire, Sati's corpse was still available for Shivji to carry around for Vishnu to cut into pieces to remove Shivji's disillusion. How was it possible? That was a question my daughter asked, and I could not find an answer. Can any one elucidate? 2. Insult, or character assassination is worse than death, many will say. Here too, the same must have happened. 3. Shivji was unconsolable because Sati sacrificed Herself to uphold the glory of her Husband. His action was a manifestation of His love for Sati who had sacrificed Herself because of Her love for Shivji. 4. Actions of great souls cannot be gauged and judged on the basis of convnetional rationale! ********************************************************************** good question, vnathan! i guess you have answered your own question- sati jumped into the sacrificial fire and burnt herself to avenge for her husband shiva's insult? then, how come a 'corpse' is available? well, with god/.goddesses all things are possible is it not? as you have rightly mentioned, actions of great noble souls cannot be justified on conventional grounds! smiles!!!! i really liked your response to my questions- for a hindu stree , her husband is equal to god- that is where the expression -"pati is parameshwar" is derived from! and the prema bhava between shiva-and shakti cannot be explained in terms of ordinary passions- it is supreme or eternal love! shiv and shakti are one soul even though in two bodies! also, sati was reborn again as parvati to again win the hand of her eternal consort, shiva. the relationship between shiva and shakti is eternal- members, we would like to hear your coments on vnathan's beautiful response! love
