Guest guest
I want to share a small story occuring in Ramayana, which was narrated by the Late Mukkur Sri Lakshminarasimhachariar. When Vali was shot by Rama's arrow, he was lying in pain and was talking to Rama, one of the dialogue that Vali uttered was "O Rama! I know why you are so devoid of pity. It is because you are without Sita. When Kakasura (asura in the form of crow) who had teased Sita was being chased by you, even the devas couldn't save him, but when he fell at your feet with his head facing away from you and Sita gently reversed his position, the very touch of Sita was enough to save his life. You spared his life by just taking one of his eyes" Elsewhere in Bhagavatam, in Vamana avatar, Vamana goes to Mahabali Chakravarti's aswamedha. Since he is a brahmachari, he covers his chest with deer skin. There is another significance for covering his chest with deer skin. Lakshmi devi is always in Lord Narayana's chest. Vamana, who is an avatara of Lord Narayana, knows this well. And he is afraid that if Lakshmi Devi's "kataksham" falls on Mahabali Chakravarti, the entire purpose of his going there will be foiled. That is why he deliberately covers his chest. Hari Om Narayanan Sports - Coverage of the 2002 Olympic Games http://sports.
