Dear All:

I have been a silent member of your group and have

learnt a lot from you all. I am in India. I have been

a tantric practitioner (non sexual variety *smile* )

from the age of 16 and I am 50 now.

I am pained at the use of Tantra as a pick up line in

the west.

I am slowly writing a book on what Tantra and Tantra

sadhana is and i intend to append a CD with all the

mantras pronounced as it is in India.

Any comments or advise will be welcome from the

masters that you all are

*smile* Dunno whether the honor is mine or urs. I am

inclined to think it is mine.

I am now giving final touches to somethings I have

written. I am also thinking of translating and

transliterating Parasurama Kalpasootra, which can be

called the bible of Kaulas. Has any one ever had an

access to an English translation of it? If not, I will

work on the translation. If a translation is there,

then I should not attempt it.

What di u think?

Well lets just say Thank You to Devi for bringing us together in

here. Without Her Blessings and Grace, all these are not possible. Im

happy that you have decided to translate the Parasurama Kalpasootra.

I dont think so i have heard of any english translation works on

Parasurama Kalpasoortra. Nevertheless no harm of having another

version. As remarked by baba in message 564 :"The more versions

you

read the better you are able to understand."

We have a discussion earlier ( see post 542, 543, 564 and 568 ) with

regards to the translation of the Devi Mahatmaya. As for me, im not

an expert in translation so I cant make any comment, but this is my

experience. When I saw the two book ( as mention by Baba and Devi

Bhakta ) I scan through both of them. I cant understand what Swami

Satyananda is trying to tell me. It got nothing wrong with the

translation. Its more with me not being able to grasp his ideas and

such. But when I read Thomas Coburn book, immediately im able to

identify. I like the cross referencing, the footnote and the detail

explanation etc. So its obvious that my choice is Thomas Coburn.

"I will start a daily mail from next

week and Devi willing I will be open and frank. Please

do not take offence to my style of writing. If you

think something I say is improper or hurting tell me"

I( and im sure most of the members here ) have no problem with that.

Do please post whatever information you deem fit as long as it does

not intend to insult anyone ( if its done unintentionally we are very

forgiving people here. So do not worry). We should respect others

opinion even though we did not agree with it.

Thank you once again menon for taking the time and the effort to be

with us. We look forward to see you and your works

Dear all:

I am hard at work to say what I have to say.

I would like to add that I never intentionally hurt any one. But my

experience has been that when one is open some people feel aggrived.

Normally I apologise as soon as some unintentional hurt is brought to

my notice.

I dunno whether I will be carrying coal to new castle. If it is let

us use the newly brought coal as well. *smile*

hey sankara, thanks ! we are looking forward to your posts...

do not worry about 'offending' for in the web , people get offended

for the flimsiest of reasons. but, we do expect members to be 'civil'

to one another - 'civility' does not mean 'conformity'- we are all

entitled to our views and are also expected to honor each other's

views- remember. we cannot please all... "to thine oneself be true."

as far as translations are concerned, most translations of tantrik

works have been attempted by westerners - which is 'great' because

for those of us who are not well versed in sanskrit. this is a great

opportunity to read those tantrik texts.... well styles differ,

translations differ but as long as the basic 'tattwas' are kept

intact, we are fine! who are we to judge anyone- we are all novices

on the path, struggling at every step...

so, please go ahead and post those tantra series ! we are eagerly

expecting to read them as our vajraberry says!

love!!!!
