Guest guest
as some of you may already know, the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT) has launched years ago the project to build a Maitreya statue in India. For latest news on the project please see : http://www.maitreyaproject.org/fullmoon/1-4/index.html Currently Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche, spiritual director of the FPMT, has asked us to do some Tara practice to help this project be materialised. I am therefore making available two Tara practices at the url : ftp://ftp2.cyberdistributeur.com/cyberdis/ They are : - the short 21 Taras practice - the Four Mandala ritual to Cittamani Tara both of these files are in zip format for speedier download. The files can be downloaded straight from your browser, once downloaded you must unzip them with for example Winzip (or any compression program) and then you'll get files in .pdf format which is an Adobe proprietary format. So in order to read these files you need to have the Acrobat Reader program which can be obtained from : http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/main.html Regarding Winzip (or WinRar if you prefer this one) you can also download the latest version from : http://download.cnet.com Have a nice week and nice practice time ! Guest guest
thanks roger for posting this... within 24 hours we see two different posts - in one post, we see 'idols' being destroyed ( the toronto temple desecreted - posted by babaji) and your post on 'maitreya statue' project... was it not buddha who told us about 'anitya' (impermanence?) adi shankara said the same thing in his sadhna chatushtaya... .. Nitya Anitya Vastu Viveka (nitya = permanent, anitya = impermanent, Vastu= object, Viveka= discrimination) The capacity to discriminate the permanent from the impermanent is called Nityaanitya Vastu Viveka. Viveka is discrimination acquired after thorough analysis. once we know nothing is permasnent (all worldly objects) and atman alone is real, we will be able to handle all such news with equanimity ( contruction as well as destruction) as our bodhiavasa put it so nicely "the lord giveth and the lord taketh away." impermanence is true says our bodhi avasa and what is true is this 'awareness'! love
