Guest guest
your wish is my command! meanwhile, here is one more! SAUNDARYALAHARI OF ADI SHANKARACHARYA By V. K. Subramanian "Prayer is the path of purification of the mind and aids in developing in the individual worshipper the consciousness of being one with God" This book is a rare Tantric work of Shankaracharya. It is simply a long poem of intense devotion, a hymn of praise to the Divine Mother . It consists of 100 verses, and each verse is presented in the original Sanskrit text in Devanagari script, accompanied with its Roman transliteration and commentary. Some Yantric diagrams are also included to focus attention on the underlying potencies of each verse. 113 pages - ********************************************************************** we have all enjoyed reading penkatali's translation of saundarya lahari in the shakti sadhna club. Guest guest
Thanks for another great suggestion, Adi! The paradigm English translation is W. Norman Brown's "The Saundaryalaharî, or Flood of Beauty." (Traditionally ascribed to Sankarâcârya. Edited, translated and presented in photographs by W. NORMAN BROWN, Professor of Sanskrit, University of Pennsylvania. 1958. 259 pages + 5 pages of plates in color. Out of print.) Fortunately, our esteemed member PenKatali based his posts to the old Shakti Sadhana Club upon Brown's version, and you'll find the entire thing in the group's Briefcase (see "Bookmarks"). Print out a copy and enjoy this amazing 100-verse hymn to Devi's sublimely beautiful Tantric form, Tripurasundari. Amazon.com sometimes has Brown's book in its used shop, and my "Shankti Sadhana" list at Amazon (also linked in Bookmarks) contains an Indian translation I've not actually read -- however, I wanted to at least get the "Saundaryalahari" onto the list in some form.
