Guest guest
namaste! '..It is through the Lila that you must feel your way up to the Nitya. It is again from the Nitya that you must feel your way back to the Lila - now no longer unreal, but manifestations to sense, of the Nitya..' '..Know the One and you will know all. Ciphers placed after the number one become hundreds of thousands. But nothing remains if you wipe out the number one. The many have value only because of the One..' (Sri Ramakrishna) form is Lila and Lila is Nitya.. so let us enjoy every form as Lila- Nitya.. i agree with eve and sankara menon's view on dharma.. we should not 'fight' for the dharma.. the dharma manifests itself, when the buddhi is 'awakened'.. Sri Ramakrishna warns that the scriptures are sometimes knots (Granthis).. '..The scriptures or Granthas are sometimes Granthis or knots! They are good only when they lead to Paravidya, the highest learning..' 'awakening' the buddhi, absolute knowledge is a matter of 'pulling the thorn out of the foot with another one and then throwing both thorns away'.. '..When a thorn runs into your foot, you take it out with another thorn, and having done so, you throw them both away. So relative knowledge or Vidya is necessary to remove relative ignorance or Avidya, which blinds the eyes of the self. But before a man can attain the highest Jnana he must do away with both of them. For, God or Brahman, is above and beyond both knowledge and ignorance, above and beyond all relativity..' untill relativity is left behind, ignorance and sorrow remains.. '..Lakshmana once said to his Divine brother; 'Is it not strange, O Râma, that a Jnâni like Vasishta Deva should have wept for the loss of his sons, and would not be comforted?' Râma replied; 'True, my brother, but bear in mind that whoever possesses Jnâna must at the same time have Ajnâna also; whoever has the knowledge of unity must also have the knowledge of diversity; whoever has the consciousness of light must have the consciousness of darkness also; because all these being correlatives belong to the domain in nescience. Unless one goes beyond both of them, one cannot be free from sorrow and ignorance..' '..Brahman is like the serpent. What does it matter if the serpent has poison in its fangs? It is none the worse for that; the poison does not kill it. It is only poison to other creatures that it may happen to bite..' (Sri Ramakrishna) to come back to the question of dharma, conflict and war, all is in the buddhi i guess.. like Aldous Huxley pointed out: '..Wars are build in the minds of men, and it is in the minds of men that the barriers of peace have to be built..' om parashaktiye namaha **love** , "adi_shakthi16" <adi_shakthi16> wrote: > hi spurna, a beautiful quote rich with meaning... > > yes, the colr of the sea water is blue > > the color of the rain cloud is bloe > > the color of the sky is is blue? > > what does blue represents ? > > ****THe INFINITE**** > > THE SHORELESS OCEAN > > THE LIMITLESS SKY... > > similarly, our divine mother has no beginning and no end -adi- anadi - > that is her!!! > > On another note our beloved Krisha is always shown as 'blue' - nila > megha shyamala vara- one whose color is that of a blur rain cloud > > krishna also means blue-black!!! > > ANOTHER NAME FOR DURGA MATA IS krishnaa (note the spelling with a > double a) > > legend tells us that durga took birth as a daughter of devaki and > vasudeva in the prison and when kamsa was about to slay her she > proclaimed 'hey asura, your slayer Krishna is taking birth soon to > destroy you." since she is sister of krishna, ONE OF DURGA'S NAMES IS > krishnaa! > > yes spurna, kali is just like the water of the sea... > > from a distance she appears blue or black > > but when you approach her intimately - look beyonfd her form and > name - she is transparent ------she has no form ! she is the infinite > brahman herself!!! > > thanks spurna ! > > p.s. spurna, is there a vedanta society where you live? i regularly > visit the center in my area on sunday at 11'o clock and hear lectures > by swamiji - that is where i learn a lot!! also, they do a lot of > social service like helping the homeless- may be you might like to > check it out! > > love
