Guest guest
A warm welcome to all new members. Everyone who loves the Goddess is welcome here -- even those who aren't sure but think they *might* love the Goddess are welcome, so that they can learn more about this path. Although we primarily share Hindu and Tantric approaches to Goddess here, we absolutely welcome and encourage ALL who adore Her, through whatever tradition. Thus we count among our members Buddhists, Muslims, Christians, Native Americans, Pagans, Wiccan, and more -- we are a very diverse group, but all of us are united in our love and worship of Goddess." That just about says it. But what can Hinduism offer these other traditions? Something very big: It is the only world religion to have maintained a continuous, uninterrupted initiatory tradition of Goddess Worship since the Stone Age. There were no schisms or breaks in the tradition; there was no systematic persecution of its practitioners. Sure, Shaktism (the form of Hinduism that worships the Goddess) often had a lower profile than the more patriarcal forms of Hinduism -- but its flame was never extinguished or even dampened, and therefore no "revival" or "reconstruction" of forgotten practice and lore is necessary. It is all here for you to learn and try. Borrow whatever works for you; there may be many lost "connections" to recover. For example, the similarities between popular Hinduism and what is known of the ancient Celtic religion have been widely remarked upon. There is a continuity between European and Indian languages that reflects the migratory patterns of an ancient, common civilization -- it is entirely likely that something of that continuity exists in spiritual practice as well.
