Guest guest
Dear devi bhaktas, this evening when i was reciting the 1000 names of sree lalita, i found that among the 1000 names of Sree lLalita are included... name-190 Om durgayaii namaha salutations to her who is difficult of acess Om maha-laksmyai namaha salutations to her who is mahalakshmi Om parvatyai namha salutations to her who is parvati, the daughter of the himalayas Om bhuvaneshwaryai namaha salutations to her who is bhuvaneshwari, the sovereign of the universe. om narayanyaii namaha salutations to her who is narayani, the counterpart of narayani om vijayayaii namaha salutations to her who is victorious om jayaii namaha salutations to her who is designated as the victorious one om siva-dutyai namaha salutations to her who is shiva's ambassador these names are just a few examples that i wanted to bring to the attention of the devotees here... if you look at a list of names for durga , all the above mentioned names durga, mahalakshmi, bhuneshweri, jaya, vijaya, parvati, shiva- duti, narayani etc appear or show up in that list... so does it mean sree lalita and durga are same? all it goes to show are some of the attributes are common to all these manifestations of the divine mother- for example, vijaya (victorious). jaya(again the victorious one), shiva-duti (ambassador of shiva)etc... while describing the divine mother, we either describe her physical appearance (whether she is blue or red, how many arms, etc) her physical beauty (description of her eyes, face, body etc) or her abodes , or her source (whether she is wife of so- and so) or her many gunas (like durga-inaccessible or one who overcomes difficulties, jagan mata -mother of the universe) etc.... all these go to show that the Divine MOTHER IS ONLY ONE - ADI-SHAKTI OR PARA SHAKTI FROM WHOM ALL THESE OTHER FORMS AND NAMES ORIGINATE... that is why we need to go beyond the names and forms and as collin and bodhiavasa and more recently ompremji has so eloquently pointed out ! it is the 'motherhood' or the qualities of 'motherhood' we are looking at- the compassion, the kindness, the nurturing qualities of forgiveness, forbearance, tolerance. patience nd ABOVE AND BEYOND ALL THESE THE DIVINE CONSCIOUSNESS -CHAITANMYA RUPINI or sat-chi-ananda rupini or truth-bliss -consciousness !!!!! the form is just for visualization - by all means , focus on the form of your ishtadevata (be it kali, durga, sree lalita etc.... ) but it is necessary to understand that all these different names and forms are only one and the same divine principle- ADI SHAKTI OR PARA SHAKTI! SO. sree lalita sahasaranama says... OM NAMA-RUPA VIVARJITAYAI NAMAHA SALUTATIONS TO **HER** WHO AS* PARA BRAHMAN IS WITHOUT NAME AND FORM. * i humbly request beloved shakta and bhakta collin to throw more light on this based on his readings of tantric literature. love and more love
