Guest guest
Dear Kochu: I don't think you offended anyone -- in fact, you started a pretty lively debate. My only concern with non-Shakti-related posts is that it creates the wrong mood and diverts us from our purpose. On the other hand, some people say it keeps things interesting. "All work and no play," and all that. That's why I put up a poll so that our members can tell us exactly what they want and what they don't! So please feel free to post early and often! And keep an eye on the poll! Guest guest
Dear DB: I know I ought not to have started the debate on “hanging out…” business. Then I asked about mantra uchaarana, which was misunderstood by some. Some thought that I was showing off “superior” knowledge. I am not and I do not. I thought that being in a sadhana group start some discussion and I learn. For that you have to state what you know that’s what I thought. Now I will confine myself to strictly necessary posts only. *smile* Kochu --- devi_bhakta <devi_bhakta wrote: Dear Kochu: I don't think you offended anyone -- in fact, you started a pretty lively debate. Guest guest
Dear Kochu: Actually, *I* am the one who started the "Hanging Out ..." business, through my own bad judgment. Yours was a legitimnate and, frankly, justified response. As for the Mantra Uchaarana affair, please know that this is simply a characteristic of Groups -- since Groups are but gatherings of human beings, and human beings squabble. Whenever someone posts something that is very wise, there is a chance that another will come along and say it's not wise. Whenever a member has the courage to take a strong position or post a dearly held opinion, they risk being pilloried by others who disagree. Whenever a member tries in good faith to teach, someone will accuse them of showing off or being egotistical or being a blowhard. That's why so few people post in any Group, relative to the number of people who join. And many more who do not join still visit us and read the posts and appreciate them. The "squeaky wheels" always get the attention, and Goddess bless them -- without squeaky wheels (and I admit to being one!) we would have no Groups at all! But please -- NEVER censor yourself when you wish to learn and discuss regarding Mother. HERS is the only opinion that matters, and if your hear is pure, you will always please HER. The rest is all human debate and exchange, and there is nothing to fear in it. If all of us posted only what is "strictly necessary," the Group would quickly lose all vitality and interest. Guest guest
Dear DB: Rest assured I will not hold back. But what I meant was I will think twice be4 posting so that I do not hurt anyone. I do not mind criticism as it is with that that we learn. But when it becomes personal, I would rarther retreat. I don't want to pick a fight unless the cause is worth it. Guest guest
OM Sankara You are an excellent example of learning, wisdom and humility. You are one of the most inoffensive people here. It is highly unlikely that you would post anything to cause intentional distress. Anyone who became distressed from reading one of your posts should look to their own insecurities. Self-awareness, self-inquiry is the alpha and omega of the spiritual journey. As Swami Sivananda says, "Enquire, 'Who Am I?' Know thy Self and be free."
