Guest guest
Q: Should we follow gurus? MM: It depends on the guru. In exceptional circumstances a guru might be necessary, even vital for spiritual development. Generally it is best to pray to the Supreme directly, or approach Him through one of His divine incarnations. That is more useful. If any human guru is giving you teachings that bring you closer in your heart to theDivine, listen and be grateful and follow them. But be clear about the limitations of all human gurus. They can only point the way; they cannot take you there. In you want to see the Divine, why don't you ask Him directly? (From "Answers", Part 1) Q: Is it possible to have a Guru and disciple relationship with a living Guru if the Guru and disciple live apart? MM: It is not possible if the Guru lives in one place and the disciple lives in another place. If the disciple lives always with the Guru and serves and surrenders without having any personal life, then it is possible to have that kind of traditional relationship. At this time, it is not necessary to have that kind of a relationship to reach God. It is helpful, but true aspiration, sincerity and love will lead you to God. Q: I have no living master. I would like to have one. MM: If you have confidence in your faith, it is not necessary to have a living Guru. Guest guest
Namaste , I happen to disagree with Mother Meera here...In our day and age, it is not always possible to live with one's master, but one can still serve him and have the Guru-Chela relationship as one's master first of all dwells in our heart, like Sri Rama dwells in Hanuman's heart! Even though when Ram left our world, he said to Hanuman that he had to stay here to guide humanity towards holy, pure life and towards Ram, and as long as Ram's name is alive here, so is Ram with us too! Hanumanji is making sure that his master's name is alive always, for the whole creations'sake! There are many ways to serve and follow one's master, even if one is not physically near one's master...If one is trying to be like Hanuman, then one will become a perfect devotee! Its all in the sincerity of the heart and in sincere surrender to one's guru's feet! Just my heart's feelings, from my own experience...Not meaning to antagonise Mother Meera... JAI MA KALI!!! JAI BAJRANG BALI!!!JAI SRI RAM!!!JAI PHIL COLLINS!!!
