Hanuman Jayanti is being celbrated today in INDIA and other parts of

the world by hindus.

THE story of vir hanuman is a facinating story . vir

bhakth hanuman's character is the embodiment of valor,

loyalty and devotion.

LOrd Hanuman worshipped Lord Rama in the classic DAASYA bhava of

bhakti- the master-servant relationship.

Hanuman plays a prominent part in Ramayana-Sunderkand in Ramayana

glorifies the valiant feat performed by vir Hanuman .

Hanuman helped Sri Rama in rescuing Sita from the clutches of the

demon king Ravana .

Hanuman also carried Sri Rama and Lakshmana on his shoulder when they

were in search of Sugreeva, the king of Vanara in Kishkindha and

helped them to find Sita.

Prior to the war between Sri Rama and Ravana, hanuman visited Lanka,

met Ravana, created havoc and burnt down the city of Lanka (Lanka

Dahan).

During the war, when Lakshmana was injured seriously,

Sushena, the surgeon/physician of the monkey army,

despatched Haanuman to bring herbal medicine, Jadi Buti,

from the far-off Sanjeevini mountain in the Himalayas,

before sunrise. Flying over the Himalayas and unable to

identify the particular herb quickly, Hanuman uprooted and

carried the entire Sanjivini mountain in time to save the

life of Lakshmana.

Hanuman was blessed by Sri Rama

with immortality (chiranjeevi).

Hanuman was a bachelor and is worshipped in all the temples of India.

Every temple of Sri Rama contains an icon of Hanuman. The

worship of Sri Rama is complete only with the worship of

Hanuman

Sant Tulsidas composed the 40 stanzas of Hanuman

Chalisa in praise of Hanuman.

Ha means Isvara, Supreme Consciousness; Nu means that which pervades;

man means manifested, thus, Hanuman is the manifested

existence of the Supreme Consciousness that pervades all.

Hanumanjis also known by other names such as Anjaneya,

Anjali Putra, Bajarangabali, Hanuman, Mahaveer, Maruti,

Pavanputra etc.

Hanuman, the Monkey God, is the son of Vayu

or Marut, the wind god. Hanuman's mother is Anjana.

(the queen of monkeys) Hanuman is the fastest and the

most agile god.

Tthe worship of the Lord as a servant,(dasya) is one of the popular

bhavas in bhakti-here, the bhakta sees himself as a selfless servant

serving god in every possible way.

HERE IS A STORY I LIKE TO SHARE WITH YOU...

once, sita devi was applying sindur (red kumkum ) on her forehead and

when Hanumanji aw that he asked Sita devi the significance of

applying the sindur- Sita devi replied " Hanuman beta,

when a woman applies sindur on her forehead, she is

parying for the longetivity ogf her husbband's life and i

am praying for sri rama's long life. "

immediately,,Hanumanji went and applied sindur all over his body and

told sita devi " mataji, now i have applied sindur all

over my body and Sri Rama will be immortal, eternal

and ever lasting." that is why, in hindu temples, one

will see hanuman's body smeared with the red SINDUR.
