Guest guest
Any anxiety or excitement in the mind, even if as transient as a line drawn on water, is the biggest loss to the saints. The best remedy against this is to think of the words producing excitement, as mere chirping of the birds or noise words. Think within: ‘birds are chirping’. Keep your attention focused on the ultimate Truth. Disengage yourself from this body, a place of humiliation, a despicable bag of wastes, urine and excreta (your body). If you consider this body, the outer envelope to be the be all and the end all of existence, you deserve disrespect and condemnation. Otherwise, is there anyone, who can insult you? If one dream-man/imaginary person is saying says something to another dream-man, let him. Guest guest
"Keep your attention focused on the ultimate Truth" What is the Ultimate Truth as define by Uriya Baba? "Disengage yourself from this body, a place of humiliation, a despicable bag of wastes, urine and excreta (your body)." Im sorry but I find it hard to accept this remark. Guest guest
<< "Disengage yourself from this body, a place of humiliation, a despicable bag of wastes, urine and excreta (your body).">> I find it difficult to accept too. If one disengages the mind from the body, then how can the mind take opinions like waste, despicable, bag of wastes, urine and excreta Is that all they can see? Cant they see that this is a temple for the soul which itself is a manifestation of the lord and what they call this body is again a manifestation of the lord? :-). Happens. Things will clear up eventually. Regards, Seshadri. - nora55_1999 Friday, April 26, 2002 5:02 PM Re: Uriya Baba says... Guest guest
Om, Answer to your first question : ultimate truth is atma, soul, or say supreme power, God. Rest all is myth. complete materialistic world is a myth. Our life is just a part of a big chain of life and death. Our present life is attached with that of whole chain. Just think about the people living hundred years back, many sayed this is mine, that is mine, but now what ? In the big mouth of death, everything is swallowed. Big Rajas and Maharajas.... all swallowed in the mouth of death.... When they were alive, they also did the same thing as ours, but now result is zero. Shivji says "Uma kahu main anubhav apna, Satya Hari bhaja, jagat sab sapna".... Regarding your second question, I will answer later, I want to leave...... Regards.. Uday. --- nora55_1999 <nora55_1999 wrote: <HR> <html><body> <tt> "Keep your attention focused on the ultimate Truth"<BR> What is the Ultimate Truth as define by Uriya Baba?<BR> <BR> "Disengage yourself from this body, a place of humiliation, a <BR> despicable bag of wastes, urine and excreta (your body)."<BR> <BR> Im sorry but I find it hard to accept this remark. <BR> <BR> <BR> Om ParaShaktiye Namaha<BR> ______________________ For live cricket scores download Score Tracker at: http://in.sports./cricket/tracker.html
Guest guest
- dear uday, thank you for this beautiful quote... please may i ask you who uriya baba is? "Disengage yourself from this body, a place of humiliation, a despicable bag of wastes, urine and excreta (your body). If you consider this body, the outer envelope to be the be all and the end all of existence, you deserve disrespect and condemnation. Otherwise, is there anyone, who can insult you? If one dream-man/imaginary person is saying says something to another dream-man, let him." thiese arte the words of a jnani... something our beloved shri ramana would also endorse whole- heartedly... in fact shri ramana says pretty much the same thing but in a different way... "A jnani has attained Liberation even while alive, here and now. It is immaterial to him as to how, where and when he leaves the body. Some jnanis may appear to suffer, others may be in samadhi; still others may disappear from sight before death. But that makes no difference to their jnana. Such suffering is apparent, seems real to the onlooker, but not felt by the jnani, for he has already transcended the mistaken identity of the Self with the body. The jnani does not think he is the body. He does not even see the body. He sees only the Self in the body. If the body is not there, but only the Self, the question of its disappearing in any form does not arise." so, what is being said here is this body is just a 'kosa' or a sheath - ( bag of wastes, urine and excreta- sounds crude but is the truth.) and it is the soul living in the body that is permanent or eternal.. so long as this body is housing the soul, we need to take care of the body as well - if you know and realize that the atman that resides in you is the same atman that resides in another, there is no one to insult you because there is no simply 'other' - beautiful, uday... so beautiful.!!! love
