However, I wold like you to read the following Durga Dhyanmantra that depicts the gorgeous and queenly portrait of mother goddess, ************************************************************ Om jataajutasamaayuktaamardhendukritashekharaam. With ten arms as delicate as lotus-stalks she holds a trident, a scimiter, a discuss,an arrow, a thunder bolt,a shield,a bow, a noose, a goad, an axe(or sometimes a bell). At her left foot lies the body of a slayed buffalo, from which a damon is emerging out and is seen fighting with the mother. He is severely perforated with the trident. He is seen tied up with snake-noose and bleeding and vomitting blood profusely. At devi's right foot is seen the lion; her carriage. She is worshipped by the Devas for all round success and fearlessness. She is surrounded by eight Skaktis,namely-Ugrachandaa,Prachandaa,Chandograa, Chandanayikaa,Chandaa,Chandabati,Chandarupaa,Atichandikaa.I pray to Her for the "Chaturbarga" (Dharma,Artha,Kama,Moksha)that is the goal for every human being.
