Guest guest
Namaskar Seshadri! You asked: *** Please advise how the group should react to the results of the vote. The people have given the verdict. Now its the question of tuning the manifesto. ;-)*** All right, here's a first draft of the "Manifesto" (and I've considered Uday's late entry, re: links to related commercial sites are okay). * All posts relating (preferably directly; at least tangientally) to the spiritual aspects of Shakti Sadhana are, of course, totally welcome. We encourage all members to contribute as much as they please in this regard, although original material is always preferred over "cut-and-paste" posts from elsewhere on the Web. * Links to or recommendations of commercial sites which sell or promote products related to Shakti Sadhana and Hinduism are acceptable. However, direct offers and sales pitches are not. For example, websites that offer devotional recordings, books on Devi and Shaktism, pooja services and supplies, etc, are all appropriate. But please try to tell members in your post why you felt they'd be interested. * Political subjects are okay, although they are not especially favored by members (who, if they want political rants, can easily find them outside the context of a spiritual forum). The recent debates on animal sacrifices to Kali, and reports on the socio-political situation of women (who are considered manifestations of Shakti) in Hinduism are good examples of appropriate political discussions for this forum. * All insulting or inflammatory posts will be deleted, even if no member is specifically named or attacked. This does *not* mean that we intend to censor unpopular or strongly stated opinions. It is more a matter of tone -- posts which have rabble-rousing or trouble-making as their main purpose are never welcome -- and will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the moderators. * Our overall philosophy is inclusion. We do not wish to delete *any* posts, or to ban *anyone* from the Group, and will avoid such extreme measures wherever possible. However, we will not hesitate to do so when attempts are made to disturb and subvert the purpose for which our members have gathered here -- that is, Shakti Sadhana. Please feel free to suggest additions or changes to this proposed policy. After a week or so, we'll put the final version into the database for the future reference of all members.
