Guest guest
Dhumavati Devi's tenure as Goddess of the Week is quickly winding to a close! But She could be back again, soon ... if you vote for us to begin a new Mahavidya Series! Not in the mood for Mahavidyas? Do the more alluring charms of Lakshmi Devi call to you? Vote for us to begin an Ashtalakshmi Series! Like our current, randomized selection system best? Then let us know that you don't *want* a series at all! Want to skip all this and go straight to your own favorite Goddess form? Tell us! All votes can be counted; we can use the club calendar to "reserve" a week for whatever Goddess forms the members want. Vote, and be heard! Polls close soon! Like, tomorrow! Guest guest
Greetings Seshadri Thank you. I can see that you are really passionate about Asta Lakshmis. I like the Asta Lakshmi too [ now! what am i talking about. I am passionate about all the Goddess ] Yes! you are right we already had the Maha Vidyas last year, but not all of them are being featured. Nevertheless I personally feel that the discussion about the featured Mahavidyas have been very limited. My hope that should we featured all of them again, we could have an indept discussion, so as to really understand them, now that we have with us learned members like Kallikaputri, Sankara, Sunelectric, Eve_69, Colin, Omprem and several others. As for the Asta Lakshmi, I did put them up. I even post a quiz asking members to guess the different type of Laksmi, but only Adi Ma responded. Should we decided to start with Astalakshmi, we could put the picture of the Astalakshmi as the main pic, and all the Eight Lakshmi over at the second picture ( where the pic of dhumavati's yantra is now ) We change this picture daily. What do you think of the idea? Do you have a featured story or symbolic representation of all the Eight Lakshmi? I managed to get only the Gaja Lakshmi. BUT! I dont see any harm in putting them again. Given a choice I want to put all the Goddess up. Give ourselves few more days ( since Devi_bhakta just started the polls ), and we shall start a fresh set of GOTW starting from next week. Guest guest
Hi Nora, Thank you for the post. Yes. I am pasionate about Asta lakshmis and all other gods too. I did a quick search and found these asta lakshmi photos. I am busy at work at the moment and so cannot spend too much. I hope its alright. I dont have a featured representation of the eight lakshmis. But I did find some on the net. If its decided to have the asta lakshmis, I do not mind spending a few hours on the weekend to come up with an article on them. Of course, I do intend to participate with questions and answers on all the lakshmis that are featured, one a week. Please find the photos here : http://www.chennaionline.com/toursntravel/placesofworship/mahalakshmi.asp Regards, Seshadri. - nora55_1999 Wednesday, May 08, 2002 9:02 AM Re: Quick! Pick a Goddess!
