Guest guest Posted May 7, 2002 Report Share Posted May 7, 2002 dear kirk, we missed you here as well as in other groups.... welcome back. yes, parvati is known as the golden hued one - "gauri" also, goddess mahalaksmi is known as "hiranmayee" the one whose colr is like gold. in kanakadhara stootram , ad isshankara describes sri mahalakshmi as Suvarna varnam :She is possessing the colour of Gold. yes, gold is an 'enticing' color! also the color of maya!!! that is why , in ramayana, demon marichi appeared as the 'golden deer' thus enticing sita devi - and shri rama went in search of this 'golden deer' leaving sita devi all alone in the hermitage !!! so, gold is the color of maya!!! love!!! great to hear from you my rudraksha kirk!!!
