Guest guest
Hello list, Is goddess spirituality a happening revival, or what? And it is timely, I would think, as the juggernaut of depleated ideology hurtles the world ever closer to the brink. Is an awakening at hand? Ever since they found those inscriptions linking Yahweh to the goddess Asherah, Biblial Historians have been busy reassessing the popular form of Yahwism, before Josiah's reforms, but nothing has been written about the "idolatrous priests" (identified as Levites by Ezekiel). There now is significant evidence suggesting that the Deuteronomic Reformation forced these defeated, but talented, priestly scribes underground, where they produced documents written in code, preserving the lore of their ancient order, until they could devise a way to reintroduce their wisdom teachings about the deity equated with love. The sacred male-prostitutes ("kedeshim")have been overlooked, mostly because of the patriarchal and homophobic bias of mainstream scholarship, but there is a story here. Their secret writings show that they were much more than merely male-prostitutes, but consecrated priests, poets, famed for their Wisdom Tradition, diviners, who functioned as judges among the people, and personal counselors to royalty, AND those retained by the official Jewish priests ("sons of Aaron"), as temple slaves, were the principal authors of the Hebrew Bible. They wrote as they were ordered, but through the meanings of the names in thier ubiquitous name lists, they told a different story.
