Guest guest
Pranam. I was reading Colin and adi-shakti's mail regarding the first guru. I was struck by the fact that many saints and great people were influenced by their mother. It is true even in my own life. The reason that I have any interest in Ambaal and spirituality is because of my mother, Mrs Bhuvaneswari Ramatas. She used to make my younger sister and me memorize stotras, tell us stories from the Puranas, tell us of the various ways Ambaal has saved us,guided us, protected us and the way Her presence has been felt in our lives generally. I sometimes feel ashamed because even though I state that I love Ambaal, there are times when I get impatient with the length of time involved in the pujas. Even though my mom might be dead tired, she always does her pujas patiently with both bhakti and respect. My father is also a great guru to me. He makes sure that he takes a bath and does his prayers as soon as he comes back from work. It does not matter even if it is 4 in the morning. He makes sure that nothing interferes with his sadhana. It is true. Our parents are our first guru. In that, I am thankful to Devi in granting me two very fine Gurus.
