Guest guest
Please pardon me if my interpretation is erroneous ... but ritual transvestism [ where men dress as women ...] is a characteristic of those who see the world through the iconography of Krishna .... the ultimate yoga in their eyes is the union with Krishna .. and since Radha achieved this, they try to emulate this Radha-bhava by dressing as women and seek union with the param-purusha Krishna ... in the shakti tradition of those who try to see the world through the perspective of the Divine Female, the need to identify with a woman is NOT so important. followers of this path view the Divine as the mother and for those who dare, as their lover, and seek union with HER. to be united with her, one has to identify with Shiva ... for men this may not be too difficult but for women, this may pose some challenges .... bottomline : for men, transvestism is an option if they long to unite with Krishna, not so if they take the path of Shakti Sadhana and virachar. in either case, coitus seems a valid analogy for the ultimate bliss of union with the Divine Jai Kali ... , "megalith6" <megalith6@h...> wrote: > A man & a woman joined in sexual union can experience a > transcendental state. Guest guest
You could indeed go further. The Lord Krishna once appeared to Radha as Kali Maa. You can worship Krishna, as a man, through Kali - you can worship God through God. Jai Om! , "shivaks51" <shivaks51> wrote: > Please pardon me if my interpretation is erroneous ... > but ritual transvestism [ where men dress as women ...] is a > characteristic of those who see the world through the iconography of > Krishna .... > > the ultimate yoga in their eyes is the union with Krishna .. and > since Radha achieved this, they try to emulate this Radha-bhava by > dressing as women and seek union with the param-purusha Krishna ... > > in the shakti tradition of those who try to see the world through the > perspective of the Divine Female, the need to identify with a woman > is NOT so important. followers of this path view the Divine as the > mother and for those who dare, as their lover, and seek union with > HER. to be united with her, one has to identify with Shiva ... for > men this may not be too difficult but for women, this may pose some > challenges .... > > bottomline : for men, transvestism is an option if they long to unite > with Krishna, not so if they take the path of Shakti Sadhana and > virachar. > > in either case, coitus seems a valid analogy for the ultimate bliss > of union with the Divine > > Jai Kali ... > > , "megalith6" <megalith6@h...> wrote: > > A man & a woman joined in sexual union can experience a > > transcendental state.
