Guest guest
Dear Brothers and Sisters, I have been a silent spectator for a long time now, gathering inputs from each and everyone of you. I have immensly benefited from this forum. I would like to share a few points same with you. I do not mean to offend anybody. 1) This forum is being sometimes used to show off erudition. I dont mean to offend anybody but i do find this happening. The aim of such elevated forums as these should be to trascend maya. I request the highly accomplished Sadhakas to ensure that this happens. 2) Sadhakas belonging to all folds of Shaktism should concentrate only on realizing the inifinite bliss. Other talks could be avoided. 3) Advanced Sadhakas like Harshananda and Vishwanatha Nambudripad could conduct tele upanyasam on various vedantic and agama works like Siva Sutra, Shakti Sutra, Tripura Rahasyam, Varivasya Rahasyam, nitya shoda shikarnavam etc. This could be extremely beneficial for fledglings like me. 4) We could also organize one to one meetings and satsangs. This could be localized. Even if two sadhakas meet, it could be beneficial. 5) We could organize localized group chanting of Saptashati, Lalita Sahasranamam, Other mantras for the general benefit of this world. Guest guest
Namaste Seshadri! Thanks for your kind words about the Group. I am glad you've decided to "break your silence" and I hope we'll hear from you often in the this forum! I also appreciate your candid criticisms and suggestions. I'll briefly address them, and the open the floor for other members: *** this forum is being sometimes used to show off erudition ... The aim of such elevated forums as these should be to trascend maya. I request the highly accomplished Sadhakas to ensure that this happens. *** Personally, I don't mind it when our members "show off erudition," so long as the subject pertains to Shakti Sadhana. I've found value in scholarly posts, in excerpts from lectures by swamis, and in personal narratives and discussions by members. There is no one "style" of post that seems inherently "wrong" to me -- other than outright attacks on others or their beliefs, or blatantly commercial or political pitches. Like a "brick and mortar" temple, this forum should be a sanctuary from that kind of energy-depleting noise. *** Sadhakas belonging to all folds of Shaktism should concentrate only on realizing the inifinite bliss. Other talks could be avoided.*** Once again, since we have devotees here at every level of spiritual development, my philosophy as moderator tends to be: "From each as they are able to give, to each as they are able to take." A post that seems overly basic or impossibly advanced to me might be precisely the inofrmation that another member was seeking. Since the purpose of Shakti Sadhana is, ultimately "realizing the infinite bliss," as you note, any post pertaining to our practice could conceiveable advance that idea for some member somewhere. However, it is possible that I've misunderstood your meaning; if you, would you kindly offer some examples of the sorts of posts that you would choose to eliminate? *** Advanced Sadhakas like Harshananda and Vishwanatha Nambudripad could conduct tele-upanyasam on various vedantic and agama works like Siva Sutra, Shakti Sutra, Tripura Rahasyam, Varivasya Rahasyam, nitya shoda shikarnavam etc. This could be extremely beneficial for fledglings like me. *** A great idea! Is anyone out there interested in our arranging such things? **** We could also organize one to one meetings and satsangs. This could be localized. Even if two sadhakas meet, it could be beneficial. .... We could organize localized group chanting of Saptashati, Lalita Sahasranamam, Other mantras for the general benefit of this world.*** More great ideas. I have personally had the honor of one-on-one meetings with several members, and I know that our co-moderator Nora had as well. These meetings are valuable and inspiring. If members wish to coordinate local meetings through this forum, I think it would be a marvelous use of the technology. Thanks once again, Seshadri, for your valuable insights and input. Guest guest
Dear Adi Shakti and all others, Thank you very much for your overwhelming response to a naive enquiry. Adi, Brahmasri "Nemmundi" Subramanya Iyer is my parameshti Guru. I have been practicing Dhyana as described in Siva Sutra. I am keen in knowing a lot of things. Ompremji, i am right now practicing only antah karna shuddi. I only pray God that i should be able to purify my thoughts and synchronize my thoughts with that of the ParaDevata. Once again I thank everybody for inviting me to the group. Guest guest
Dearest Devi Bhakta, I thank you for taking your time to appreciate my views. I value your opinion. I was hurt to see people fighting with each other when the other day Maha Yogi Shantananda Swami passed away. My memory is highly volatile and i cannot qoute any scripture, but i would like to once again point out to our esteemed members that the very pre-requisite of acheiving oneness of God is laid out in the first chapter of Bhagvad Gita which says that there should be direct correspondance of Mind, thought, speech and action. I would like to take the responsibility of organizing a meeting in chennai. Members living near chennai could contact me. My phone number is 98410 52698. Sadhakas interested in having a sat sang may please contact me. Seshadri Sarman --- devi_bhakta <devi_bhakta wrote: > Namaste Seshadri! > > Thanks for your kind words about the Group. Guest guest
Dearest Vishy, What i meant by a teleupanyasam, is not actually a conventional one. It would be more in terms like the Ramayana upanyasam oh Shri Hari Krishnan in Chennaionline.com. We can create a directory where you can start uploading files on a everyday basis, ppl could read that and benefit. Something very similar to what Harshanand is doing today. Guest guest
hi ravi, thank you.... you have mentioned ';chennai-on-line' in your message to vishy! yes, i am also very fnd of that website... I would like to draw your attention to rhe beautiful 'file' section in this group where our beloved nora (goddessinme2002)has created the following slokas etc for the benefit of our readers.... 1) Lalita Sahasranama.doc 2) Saundaryalahari.doc 3) lalita. pdf English version of Lalitopakhyana by Ganapati Sachchidananda Please visit the file section and enjoy these gems... you have mentioned 'sree lalita sahasaranama' as one of your varied interests... yes, 'anthar-mukhi' sadhana is the best as sree Devi herself RECOMMENDS IT... as our ompremji has rightly mentioned , one should not get stuck on hearing 'unsturck'sounds (anahata) or seeing 'visions' in sadhana.... these are all by products of sadhana... the real goal is to go deeper and deeper and dive deep into the ocean of 'self' when the wave merges with the ocean!!! smiles! love and blesings,
Guest guest
Dearest Adi, I am a regular visitor of the Shakti Sadhana group and look for updates on the file section. I have gone through all the files and uploaded the lalitopakhyana pdf file to add to its richness. Lalita Sahasranama is definitely my favorite. As a part of the Antarmukha sadhana one could also do the panchayatana pooja starting from mooladhara to the sahasrara. No external worship is necessary. I had discussed about this with my Guru and in his answer he taught me Bhavanopanishad. He also told me that one should first see and rejoice the sri chakra externally and get to know each and every devata adorning the nine planes and then persue antar mukha sadhana. The most important observation that i made was Lalita Sahasranama would give each aspirant a different meaning depending on his plane of realization. As you advance and as antahkarana shuddi takes place, she would reveal more "secret" meanings to the sadhaka. It is the storehouse of mantra Shastra and tantra shastra. Guest guest
HI RAVI, that is wonderful to know- is alos one of my favorite groups.. SHRI harsha advised me that by reciting sree lalita sahasaranama regulary with love and dvotion (and also with full knowledge of all the mantras)Kundalini can be awakened... you state that sree Llita sahasaranama is a storehouse of mantra and tantra shastra - i will add one more - shree yantra as well... I am glad you are practicing shakti-upasana under a qualified guru... i am reminded of a story from the upanishads which i would like to share with you ... king Janaka asks Yajnavalkya " What light does a man require in order to be able to live in this world ?" Yajnavalkya answers "Any child would know that answer. Man is able to live and work because of the light of the sun " Janaka then asks "What happens when the sun sets or when there is no light emanating from the moon and stars?" Yajnavalkya answers" Then one lives by the Atmajyoti (the light of the Self )" Janaka asks again "How to recognise that light ?" Yajnavalkya answers " Every one walks on Mother Earth in which lie buried precious gems, minerals, etc, only one who makes a study, (a serious seeker), would be able to find them. Similarly, in order to find the light of the Self one requires a Sadguru (a true Master.) ! but, those who do not have a formal 'guru' can derive courage from the fact that 'till that time the physical guru arrives' sree lalita herself takes the place of the manasika guru! in sree lalita sahasaransama, sree lalita herself is described as a form of GURU! AND guru DAKSHINAMURTHI AS WELL!! on another note, you state that your guru taught you Bhavaniopanishad... could you share that with us all. please provide english translations, wherever possible.... what about other shakta upanishads, they total eight in number... looking forward to your regular participation in this cyber temple, love recognizing love > > It is the storehouse of mantra Shastra and tantra > shastra. > > Seshadri Sarman > --- adi_shakthi16 <adi_shakthi16> wrote: > > hi ravi, thank you.... > > > > you have mentioned ';chennai-on-line' in your > > message to vishy! yes, > > i am also very fnd of that website... > > > > I would like to draw your attention to rhe beautiful > > 'file' section > > in this group where our beloved nora > > (goddessinme2002)has created the > > following slokas etc for the benefit of our > > readers.... > > > > 1) Lalita Sahasranama.doc > > 2) Saundaryalahari.doc > > 3) lalita. pdf > > English version of Lalitopakhyana by Ganapati > > Sachchidananda > > > > Please visit the file section and enjoy these > > gems... you have > > mentioned 'sree lalita sahasaranama' as one of your > > varied > > interests... > > > > yes, 'anthar-mukhi' sadhana is the best as sree > > Devi herself > > RECOMMENDS IT... as our ompremji has rightly > > mentioned , one should > > not get stuck on hearing 'unsturck'sounds (anahata) > > or > > seeing 'visions' in sadhana.... these are all by > > products of > > sadhana... the real goal is to go deeper and deeper > > and dive deep > > into the ocean of 'self' when the wave merges with > > the ocean!!! > > smiles! > > > > love and blesings, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Sign up for SBC Dial - First Month Free > http://sbc. He said that considering the darth of good Gurus then and knowing what is to come. 2. Sri Vidyaranyaswami in at the bigining of "Sreevidyaarnava Tantra" says that Devi had blessed the book with the blessing that even if a sadhaka has no Guru, he can cosnider the book as Guru and practice Sadhana. However, i could point you to Bhaskararaya's translation of Bhavanopanishad and the resultant prayoga vidhi (Bhaskararaya says this is Mahayaga krama). I would be glad to point out the english translation of this work. http://www.clas.ufl.edu/users/gthursby/tantra/index.htm This is a very good site and it is doing yoeman service to Shakti Sadhakas.
