Guest guest
First of all, I wish to thank the person who kindly invited me to your list - I appreciate even though I am ignorant as to who it might be! In reading the list welcome letter ... "Others worship Her as nothing less than Supreme Brahman Itself, the One Without a Second, holding that all other forms of Divinity, female or male, are but Her diverse manifestations." I would say - these words describe how I feel. I am not Hindi nor do I practice Hindu religion - rather am a priestess of the Goddess, trained to HP in four traditions, but practising something of a personal path formed loosely around my training and heavily on personal experience. My two serious areas of study are Goddesses and Trees. Anyone interested in how those two might combine - please feel free to see my website The Blue Roebuck at www.blueroebuck.com I am interested in the goddesses of India having been drawn by a strong pull from Durga early in my training. My work as a priestess has been heavily weighted on assisting and guiding women to their own personal power thru knowledge of their own divine spirits. I am pleased to be here and hope to learn much. Guest guest
adi_shakthi16 wrote ... please write here about the goddess tradition you follow and the symbolism of trees in your tradition, Ah well, it is a lot to write. When first began my studies were based on the Celtic Ogham - the Sacred Tree Alphabet. Each lunar cycle was represented by a tree, the Mystery of the Tree correlated with the season - the energies present at that time of year - The Trees were thought to hold the mystery teachings of the Druids - where ever they did come from or how used - their Mysteries are ancient and very connected to nature spirits - I enjoy my connection to the trees and all the accompanying lore - each tree has many correspondences - stones, colors, animals, birds, numbers, Goddesses, healing properties and magical properties as well. There are 13 lunar trees with two alternates, five solar trees and then five more that are used for special Mysteries within the traditions. So 25 in all. I have however added trees as I go along - depending on where I live - the trees do not all grow in every area so I find it really interesting to add local native information of the trees we have here in the United States. The coming lunar cycle is Holly. It is honored at this time of year as this is when it blooms. It's very name means sacred tree, and it represents the consistent possibility of creation. If you look to the leaves of the holly you will see they are sharp - will stick you good if touched wrong - so they also are a sign of protection. In the Battle of the Trees is it is said of the Holly - (Tinne) "I am a battle waging spear!" It's bird is the starling - this is a bird that stays with the flock - even has scouts sent out as lookouts - but they all stick together - so their message is to stand with your own and carefully guard each other - their homebase is always secure due to their diligence. The starling army is always banded together and so to should the children of the Goddess come together. The starling flocks are never attacked by other birds and by standing strong together, so shall the children of the Goddess be protected. There are other attributes - herbal lore and such - and Goddesses that are honored for this lunar cycle are The Morrighu and/or Creiddylad. Other goddesses could also be honored but should be in keeping with the energies of the Mystery - Hope that helps a bit - is very simplified but perhaps enough.
