Namaskar Everyone ...

I would like to let you know that our member Harshanand_16 earlier

today posted an eight-part message on the life of the saint Sri Adi

Shankaracharya, whom he admires greatly.

I have deleted the messages and collected them into a single file in

the "Files" section of the Group, because:

* the message was overly long; book-length, in fact (154 pages, in

unformatted plain text), and could not be realistically read in a

Group format;

* the message was not prefixed with any introductory comments or

other material explaining its benefit and content to members of this

Group; and

* the identical posts were simultaously posted by harsha in other

Hinduism clubs.

Harshanand did affix the following request to the end of the last

message: "Please mail your comments, suggestions and corrections to

harshanand_16." So I an assuming that that document is his

own work, and does not consist of copyrighted materials.

Finally, because compiling, filing and deleting very long posts is

extremely time-consuming and problematic for the moderators, I would

repeat the request I last posted on July 2 (Message #2590), in

response to Harsha's previous supersize post:

"As a general reminder to members, we do ask that any postings of

scripture, hymns, [long religious tracts, books, pamphlets, and other

lengthy materoials of a highly esoteric character] be prefaced with

some remarks from the poster -- explaining the nature and value of

their content and, preferably, their relevance to devotees of Devi,

the Goddess.

"We are proud of our membership -- which includes a huge range of

human experience and knowledge -- from curious teenagers to 90-

something Srividya adepts. There are people here from every corner of

Mother Earth. And while our focus is on the Goddess as She is

worshiped in Hinduism (i.e. Shaktism), we also count people of every

other religious tradition among our number. So although it is

sometimes difficult to manage, whenever possible posts should be at

least semi-comprehensible to as many members as possible.

"Thanks as always for your participation and support."

Please note:

*** I have deleted the messages and collected them into a single file

in the "Files" section of the Group ***

The folder is called shankara -1.doc, "The inspiring life of Shri Adi

Shankara." It turns out that my compilation efforts were for naught;

Harsha himself uploaded the identical file on June 11.

Note to Harsha: "Files" is the best place for oversized posts; there

is no need to reproduce the entire document on the message board.

PLEASE simply upload the file and post a BRIEF note in the forum

telling members that it's there in case they are interested. A 150-

page document is simply not appropriate material for a message board

like this. Thank you for your attention and cooperation.
