Sri Sarada Math is the world's largest independent women's monastic

order. The ideal of this Order is rooted at the teachings of Sri

Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. Swami Vivekananda

had mentioned at different times that just as Belur Math was founded

for men, a similar math would have to be established for women. Sri

Sarada Math was established in 1954 fulfilling the vision of Swami

Vivekananda, where women will be working for 'liberation of the self

and welfare of the world'.
