Guest guest
Namaste, I joined the list a few days ago ( a dear friend/sister suggested the list to me) and just didn't have a moment to introduce myself. My name is Shelly and I live in Connecticut with my husband/soul mate. We have 5 wonderful children ages 2 years to 13 years old that I am home full time with and that I also homeschool. This is me on a mundane level I suppose. I am a devotee or like I would rather say a daughter of Kali. She has called me my whole life but in different guise so that I could relate to her. It was not until after the birth of my 4th child that I began to actually explore my love for India and all things from the region. The sounds and smells the brought tears to my eyes and a memory I could not fully see to my soul. I knew I had found my Mother and needed to look no further. I am also a devotee of Ammachi. When I received darshan from her the first time I was positive I was taken into the Mother's womb and held there to swim in the bliss and then reborn. I know that might sound strange but really it is the only way I can explain it. Our home is filled with love for all Goddess of all faiths since we believe they are all the same. And it is interesting to watch my children find their own path in the freedom they have in our home. I am currently reading "Tools for Tantra" by Johari, Harish. So far it is a rather good book on Shakti worship and I feel grateful to have stumbled upon it. It seems to be more on the Shakti worship than what I call the western smut books that have nearly ruined the word Tantra. Don't get me wrong I am no prude just tired of Goddess worship being destroyed by those trying to make a buck or for those who really are not serious. I hope to pass on a rich path to my children and keep the Goddess alive in her many forms. Would love to hear other books people have read and enjoyed that have kept them on the right path. I look forward to being a part of the group and learning and sharing. Hope this finds you in her bliss. Jai Ma! Shelly
Guest guest
Isn't this a great list? My wife and I have four children, 6 months to 12 years, are Ammachi devotees and Kali bhaktas as well. Have you read anything by Robert Svoboda? He is my favorite author who writes about tantra. One must take some of the things he says with a grain of salt, but he seems to provide one of the most balanced, authentic views of tantra available. Welcome to the group. Guest guest
Aravind, So very very nice to meet you! I admit it is nice to know there is a large family who are devotees of Amma. I felt when we went for darshan last time that we were the largest family there! *L* Thank you for sharing about Robert Svoboda. I have not read any of his work and looked it up and it all looks so wonderful! I will have to make sure to check some of the books out. Thank you again for welcoming me to the group. I really am enjoying reading the posts! In Amma's Divine Love, Shelly
