Guest guest
Pranam. How is everyone? I was wondering if someone could clear this doubt for me? I had read this book called "The Tutankhamun Prophecies" by Maurice Cotterell. It is a fascinating book regarding the esoteric messages encoded in Tutankhamun's tomb and his grave goods. The author has also done research on the Maya of south America. The Maya have a god caled Tonatiuh who has an extended tongue which represents the giving of life. I was just wondering, could Kali ma's extended tounge have the same symbolicism? That She is the Goddess of Destruction but She also gives us rebirth? Or am I just being whimsical? I would really appreciate any information on this. With Love Shankaree P.s. Maurice Cotterell has also published a book called "The Mayan Prophecies" Health - Feel better, live better
Guest guest
Shakaree Ji. Kali's protruding has different meanings to different people. Some people believe when she was in her killing frenzy she didn't notice that she stepped on Shiva her consort and then retracted her step and stuck out her tongue in embarassment. That is the most common reason. As to giving life. I've never read that. But in other ways, yes. She isn't solely a destructive deity. To us Kali devotees she is Mother. The ONE true Goddess. The one that can give and take life whenever she pleases. So yes in a way she is a life giving deity, but that has nothing to do with the tongue........I hope this helps.
