RegVeda V S 8 :

 

`lla, Saraswati, Mahi, three Goddesses

Who brings as weal,

Be seated harmless on the grass'

 

II. 41.16.9

Best mother, best of rivers, best of Goddesses Saraswati

We are, as it were of no repute

Dear Mother, give us thou renown

 

II.4.9.17

In thee, Saraswati, who are divine

All existences are assembled in, thee

Rejoice Goddesses, among the shunahotras

Grant us, O Goddess, progeny

 

II.4.9.18

Saraswati, abounding in food, abounding in water

Be propitiated by these oblations

Which the grit samadas offer,

As acceptable to thee, and precious to Gods

 

II.3.9.8

Saraswati, do thou protect us, associated with the Maruts and firm (

of purpose ) overcome our foes, whilst Indra slays the Chief of

Shandikas, defying him and confiding in his strength

 

I.24.9.8

BHARATI ( the goddess presiding heaven ) ILA ( over the earth ),

Saraswati ( over the firmament)

I invoke you all

That you may direct us prosperity

 

3.12

Saraswati produces a vast sea

She encourages the senses to gain knowledge

 

I.23.1.49

Saraswati, that retiring breast, which is the source of delight, with

which thou bestowest all good things, which is the container of

wealth, the distributor of riches, the giver of food ( fortune ) ,

that (boso) do thou lay open at this season for our nourishment.
