Guest guest
Namaskaram Sameer, I already know this. It is a great Tourist attraction. Shri Shankara Bhagvatpada did penance there and established Devi Mookambika's temple Her Idol is made of Pancaloka. I need the Bija Mantra , Dhyana Sloka, and any special mode of worship. This will be appreciated. warm regards, Vijay
Guest guest
Namaste Vijay! I believe that the bija mantra of Mookambika devi is a very closely gaurded secret and confined to the priests of the temple. The only outsider that in my knowledge, who knows this bija mantra is a person named Mithran Nampoodiripad. The story as to how he got this mantra is as follows- Mithran had performed purascharanas of Bala and Mrityumjaya mantra and proceeded on a pilgrimage to Mookambika with the intent to get initiated into this mantra. When he requested the priest, he outrightly refused to initiate him. Mithran supposedly was very disappointed and as evening approached, he started crying; at that moment a woman in ochre robes carrying a trident came to him and told me, " the priest refused to initiate you, dont worry, I will initiate you" and then whispered the mantra three times into his ear. After that she vanished abruptly. Mithran ran to the temple overjoyed and told the priest who had refused to initiate him; the mantra that he received was the correct one. As was the custom in the temple that anyone who had darshan of Mookambika Ammavaru, he was ceremoniously worshipped and carried around in a palanquin. This story happened in the 1940's or 50's and Mithran is still living. He is one of the few remarkable priests in my native state of Kerala. Harsha had posted a Mookambika stotram; perhaps that may suffice for you? Aum Namasivaya V.
