On my altar I have a figurine of the/a Goddess procured during my trip

to India. I was told She is a Nagina or something like that.

She has the body of a snake and above her head are 5 snakes heads. She

holds out Her hands together and I believe She is holding a shell in

them.

I really love Her.

I always thought that the Genesis story told of the displacement of

the Mother Goddess, Her serpent knowledge and the divine Tree of Life.

I think other interpretations are interesting, too.

But what use is it if we don't get back to Her?

Today She is my Goddess of Happiness, because I need Her to guide me

to this elusive state and help me to live there in my heart. Surely

She means for us to be happy, no matter how challenging this plane of

existence is.

I'm not looking for mindless bliss, just happiness; a consistent sense

of how to head for that as though it were Home.

Namaste
