(From Tantra Sara)

Salute to thee, O Devi!

Dispenser of blessings, beloved Sankara

Dear to devotees,

Annapurne

Thou hast assumed form by maya

Beloved of Sankara

Salutation to Mahasvari

O Annapurne ! Obeisance to Thee

O Mahamaya! Beloved spouse of Hara

Giver of the fruit of desire,

Queen of Suras

O Annapurne! Obeisance to Thee

O Mahadevi with the luster of a thousand rising suns

Three eyed,

Crested with the crescent moon

O Devi! Clad in fine garment,

Ever giving rice, Sinless One,

Who delights in the dance of Siva

Crested with the crescent moon.

O Annapurne! Obeisance to Thee

O Devi! Fulfiller of the desires of devotees,

Destructress of worldly pain,

Bending under the weight of Thy breasts.

O Annapurne! Obeisance to Thee

Thou resident in the center of the six-petalled lotus,

And art in the form of the six-fold sakti,

Thou art Brahmani and all others,

O Annapurne! Obeisance to Thee

O Devi! Adorned with crescent moon,

All empires are Thy gifts.

Giver of delight to Sarva,

O Annapurne! Obeisance to Thee

Thy lotus feet are worshipped by Indra and other Devas;

Thou assumest the form of Rudra and other Devas,

Giver of wealth.

O Annapurne! Obeisance to Thee

Whoever at time of worship

Devoutly reads this hymn,

In his house Laksmi ever abides

True is this and without doubt

Whoever having recited the mantra daily

Reads this hymns at dawn of day,

Obtains wealth of rice

And prosperity
