Guest guest
I was asked this question by a very shy member of this group. He have been with us since the club days and I have known this fine young man for almost 2 yrs now. I have partially answered him but I really like our more experience Sadhaks opinions. 1. Why is Devi known as the Mother of time? 2. If I meditate Mother, am I meditating the present or the past ? He is a real shakta at heart and in the beginning of his path, but he have some concerns. The first remarks that he told me ` I know you will think that I am weird to worship the feminine aspect of the divine, but that is how I feel. I feel drawn towards Mother" Does this sound familiar ? Thank you Om Shanti
Guest guest
Nora this is Satyen. The following is what I would put forth as regards the questions. Most of the dimensions have a paash around it and that paash or boundary or snare is the snare of time (kaal), the beholder is Kaali. Without her grace nothing can escape that black hole of time. No matter where and how you meditate, the ultimate objective is to realise that the present is the net accumulation of the past and the future is what is borne out of the present. Were there to be no present, there would be no future. And I recommend a look into literature by Sri Aurobindo, especially Savitri to realise that there is no past, present, or future. It on one level is One in continuum or none whatsoever. For this, one can refer to the Advaita Vedanta or Vishishtadvaita. If it is the latter, then understand the Dvaita philosophy of Madhavacarya (or Madhvacarya). The study of all sastra by that many such as Kapila, Patanjala, Kanaad (or Kanva Muni), et al will all point at the same if one sastra is realised. And if studied all of them will give that many perspectives to view the same object. Rather than asking such questions, it is better to go into Mauna and find the lotus of the Mother (in any form whatsoever) which are located within.
