Guest guest
Pranam, Premji. I absolutely accept your observation thet if Krishna had not wanted a war, there would not have been a war. Even Sahadeva states that when Krishna asks the Pandavas and Draupadi about the pros and cons of going to war. Krishna Himself states this. I do not deny this nor am I just blaming Draupadi without cause.(I have sent another mail, as well. Please see that) Panchali is a great role model. I can relate to Her better that Sita Devi whom I feel is too docile.(This is probably a heresy ;-)) Draupadi fought for and demanded an equality. She did not take things lying down. God has already done everything. But, in this great stage called Life, there needs to be a visible reason. If Helen was an unwilling participant in the Trojan war, Draupadi was the driving force. In both these wars, the Gods have decided to clear the world of the current heros and usher in a new era. That was the context I meant for my words to be. In a way, I am glad. By writing those words, I am getting a feedback. I am learning of new interpretations and in the process, being relieved of my errors. But, please forgive me, for I am still a child and still learning. As the saying goes,' Katrathu kaiyalavu, kallaathathu ulagalavu' That which is known is a handful;Unknown is the size of the world. Guest guest
This has been a very interesting thread. On the first reading I had no idea what was being discussed. I'm actually lucky that someone may have almost taken offense at what was written or I would never have understood this. The implications about women and power and interpretations of the various scriptures are very interesting. I appreciate that this was brought out in greater detail for a novice like me to understand.
