Gayathri is the personified unity of the three governing divinity

Gayatri, Savitri and SaraswathiShe is also known as the five faced

divinity of whose faces emanate the five life forces or Pancha

Pranas. These five life forces are fostered and protected by Gayatri

and therefore She is called the benefactor and the protector. During

the time She is protecting these life forces, She is called Savitri.

When She protects and fosters your word, She is called Saraswati. The

Goddess Gayathri protects the intellect, the life force and the word

of Her devotees at all times.

Mukta-vidruma-hema-dhavalas-chayair

Mukhais-tryaksanair-

Yuktam indu-nibaddha-ratnamukutam

Tattvarthavarnatmikam/

Gayatrim varadabhayankusakasah

I meditate on the (five0headed ) Goddess Gayatri, whose faces are of

the hues of the pearl coral, gold, blue, black and white ( stones),

of three eyes ( in each face), with jeweled diadems set with the

crescent moon, composed of syllables representing the Great Truth,

and holding in the (ten) hands, the poses of offering refuge and

boons, goad, whip, white skull, rope, conch, discus and two lotuses.
