Today was my Grandmoms funeral, I was rejected a grant I applied for to live in India studying music. I was so very sad yesterday and still am. This grant meant the world too me and would have been the best thing that ever happened in my life. In my misery I got drunk off of Absynthe! Not the best thing to do............ It is also the fall season and I just feel like death and transformation is all around me. This has always been my favourite time of year since I was a kid because of Halloween and the changing leaves. My Kali helps me embrace the death and change as part of a greater cycle. Even in my misery there is joy in my heart! Right now my biggest dilemma is deciding whether I should live in Pune with a Dhrupad singer studying vocals, Tabla and Hindi which I already speak a bit of. Or, taking a big chance and staying in Bengal where I could live with the Bauls, start studying Bangla from scrath and get to see that nice BIG Kali temple they have... I guess my life can't be too bad right now if these are the agonizing decisions I have to make! I really want to see the Kali temple. Really though, I just want to be close to Ma. I know she is my beating heart, but I want to learn sadhana for her also instead of praying all the time like I do. Take care everyone. I am sure too that we all could learn something and perhaps write our own little "summaries" too. This is what this whole forum is all about.
