Guest guest
Worshipped on the third night, this Durga Shakti rides a tiger. Her skin is of a golden hue, and She possesses 10 hands and three eyes. Eight of Her hands display weapons while the remaining two are in the mudras ( gestures) of boon giving and stopping harm, respectively. The terms "Chandra" and "Ghanta" indicate supreme bliss and knowledge, showering peace and serenity, like a cook breeze on a moonlit night. Durga Devi is frequently worshipped in this form in Kanchipuram ( Karanataka ) India! Om ParaShaktiye Namaha

Durga Devi is frequently worshipped in this form in > Kanchipuram ( Karanataka ) India! Kanchipuram is in Tamil Nadu. Am not aware of ChandraGhanta bein worshipped in Kanchi. It is Kamakshi as I know . Kamakshi means Lalita with all her usual attributes. Scriptures mention Durga riding a Lion instead of tiger. I dint come across any which say tiger as of now. Only pictures show her as riding tiger. Remember that pictures are drawn by artists and painters not necessarily by well learned shaktas.
