Vanakkam KalikaPutri and Prainbrow

Thank you .

"It is fun to dance to the beats so try going tomorrow and have a

go

at the dancing too. You dance to the rhythm of your heart and will

reach ecstactic heights of bhakti ie devotion, will feel one with

goddess as the kinetic energy builds up with louder and faster

beating drums!!"

Ah! Yes the dance. The drums it's the sound of "life"

itself.

"It is a song to invite and invoke the goddess to shun darkness

out of our lives and bring light and joy and dispel ignorance"

It is also a moment to rejoice the victory of Good over evil.

"It may be a close knit community but we all belong to the

community of the universal mother where no one is an outsider"

How true, how true Kalikaputri.

"tomorrow is the last day so do have a go and you will love it!!

Just wear a long skirt rather than trousers to get you into the

spirit!!"

The tomorrow is today for us here. Been looking forward for it. I

remember during the olden times in the old temple where I use to

spend my time, on the last night of Navarathri, we place Mother Durga

on the chariot and wheel HER around the temple. Together with the

sounds of drums, singing and dancing. There will be a person leading

the processions with bows and arrows. As soon as he discharge the

arrows in the air ( symbolizes Devi with hundreds of arrows, and in

wrath split the asuras bow with her arrows), everybody will rush to

get hold of the arrows. They believe the arrows is auspicious and

will drive away all evils. The last arrow with fire is directed at an

image of "evil natured Asura" made from haystack. And

everybody dance

around the fire as it burns the "Asura". It looks like a huge

campfire, and we dance around the fire with drums, singing and

chanting the name of Durga.

Namo Namo durge Sukh Karni

Namo Namo Ambe dukh harani

I bow to you O Goddess Durga, the bestower of all happiness !

I bow to you O Goddess Amba ! Who ends all miseries.

Om ParaShaktiye Namaha
