Guest guest
dear members of shakti sadhana.... folks, in recent times we have seen many acts of violence committed by hindus against muslims and by muslims against hindus in the western state of Gujarat... first, there was the train burning incident by muslims - then the outraged hindus recated violently by setting many muslim colonies on 'fire' killing hundreds... then to top it all, we recently witnessed an incident where a few islamic terrorists killed hindu devotees in the swami-narain temple... every time, hindus attack muslims - i feel so outraged that i want to convert to islam and anytime muslims attack and kill hindus i want to cling on to my own religion and sever my ties with muslim friends.... i feel ashamed of being a Hindu when fellow hindus kill muslims . this made me think long and hard- is conversion the answer? what is conversion - conversion means to change - change what? change your manner or method of worship? go to mosque instead of the temple? read the koran instead of the bhagwat gita? cover my head and wear a burqha? say my prayers five times a day ? no dear ones, conversion is not this - conversion is beyond all this.... conversion, to be real - is ****transformation****** - it is not the wearing of a MASK - IT IS CHANGE OF CONSCIOUSNESS - TRANSFORMATION OF THE HEART.... YOU TRANSFORM INTO A HUMAN BEING - A CARING, LOVING HUMNAN BEING - not a hindu, not a muslim, not a jew , not a jain, not a buddhist not a christian BUT SIMPLY A LOVING, TENDER, CARING, SOULFUL HUMAN BEING! WHEN THERE IS CHANGE IN CONSCIOUSNESS , THERE IS REAL 'CONVERSION' - otherwise it is merely 'perversion' - what is the use of chnging religions, if one continues to be an extremist, a fanatic or a fundamentalist? conversion does not mean 'changing from one religion to another' there is only one RELIGION - that is the religion of LOVE as our beloved ibn-arabi ould say... here i would like to narrate a story .... There is a story that comes out of Asia about a farmer who saw a tiger's tail swishing between two large rocks. In a moment of haste, he grabbed the tail and pulled. All of a sudden he realized he had an angry tiger by the tail and only two rocks stood between him and the tiger's teeth and claws! So there he remained, afraid to loosen his grip on the enraged animal's tail lest he surely be killed. A monk happened by and the farmer called out in desperation, "Come over here and help me kill this tiger!" The holy man said, "On, no. I cannot do that. I cannot take the life of another." Then he went on to deliver a homily against killing. All the while, the farmer was holding tightly to the tail of an angry tiger. When the monk finally finished his sermon, the farmer pleaded, "If you won't kill the tiger, then at least come hold its tail while I kill it." The monk thought that perhaps it would be all right to simply hold the tiger's tail, so he grabbed hold and pulled. The farmer, however, turned and walked away down the road. The monk shouted after him, "Come back here and kill the tiger!" "Oh, no," the farmer replied. "You have converted me!" many hindus pride themselves on practicing SANATANA dHARMA... BU, AT THE SLIGHTEST PROVOCATION, HINDUS ALSO RESORT TO VIOLENCE - as in gujarat- killing hundreds of innocent muslim women and children... the word 'hindu' is defined as - "na hinayate iti hindu" =- one who does not harm is a hindu - so if we harm an kill others we are not fit to be called hindus... what is the difference between a fundamental christian, a fanatic hindu or an islamic extremist? so, folks.... what we need is not just conversion but a real transformation - transformation of the HEART! "O God, I ain't what I ought to be and I ain't what I'm a-goin' to be. But thanks to you, I ain't what I used to be!" LOVE AND BLESSINGS
Guest guest
Hello > THE SLIGHTEST PROVOCATION, HINDUS ALSO RESORT TO VIOLENCE - as in > gujarat- killing hundreds of innocent muslim women and children... They dont . It took 1000 yrs of provocation. There is no use of this comparision. Muslim violence is beyond comparision. > > the word 'hindu' is defined as - "na hinayate iti hindu" =- one who > does not harm is a hindu - so if we harm an kill others we are not > fit to be called hindus... The above definition is not correct. The reason being the word hindu is not a sanskrit word. The word hindu does not appear in any of the scriptures. Whoever gave that definition of hindu is just making up something. >what is the difference between a > fundamental christian, a fanatic hindu or an islamic extremist? A fanatic hindu respects other religions while other fanatics dont. That is the difference. good luck.
