Guest guest
Namaste Sri adi_shaktiji, Thank you for your well written reply, it certainly is laden with facts and thank you for your compliments too, i guess everyone is as much as a child of devi as I am, but I got to childofdevi first, but your are adi_shakti, the primordial mother, so my heartfelt pranams to you! I cannot but agree with all that you have said. Jesus is indeed considered to be a yogi in the kriya yoga school, some statements in the bible cannot be understood otherwise but only in the light of yoga. He himself possessed the astasiddhies as can be clearly be seen in the bible. >bargain , they did lose something - they got alinated >from their own >culture... is it better for them to be away from a culture that treats them like animals or in a culture that gives them some semblance of equality. i am only referring to the attitudes of the average hindu who is probably not very different from the average christian. the main point that i wanted to convey was that there are bad christians and bad hindus, but that does not make christianity or hinduism necessarily bad. >THERE IS AN INTERESTING STORY IN THE LIFE OF ADI >SHANKARA... once this is the story from the madhaviya sankara digvijaya but a lot of people tend to believe that it is not true. didnt he burst out in a stotra when he learnt that the untouchable was Siva himself- do you happen to know what it was(i just cant remember it). >WE HAVE MANY RISHIS WHO BELONG TO LOWER CASTES... the great compiler of the vedas himself, vyasa was born of a fisherwoman and according to manu dharma shastra would be an untouchable(born out of wedlock, a anuloma union, higher caste man with a lower caste woman). >IS THE ONLY SAVIOUR not because I can have a better >standard of >life!! adi_shaktiji i would like to disagree with you on this-spirituality cannot be begotten on a empty stomach. material improvement is sine qua non for spiritual progress for the majority of people(disclaimer: my own viewpoint) it is also interesting that you mentioned varna as the basis of the caste system. varna in sanskrit also means colour- i have a very interesting theory on the caste sytem based on varna ; which is very much in sync with modern techniques such as Kirlian photography that lets you see the pranayamakosha; which i will post some other time. in conclusion let me congragulate you on your wealth of knowledge and you are a great contributor to this forum.
