Guest guest
Dear DB, first, let me congratulate on the beautiful picture of SREE Ganga Devi - i am of course referring to the one on top - it is very Lucid and free flowing- the artist has done asuper job of coveying the 'pristine' purity of Mother GANGA and her descent on earth... Lovely, very Lovely!!! nOW DEAR ONE, WITH GREAT DIFFICULTY - we just got off from the 'controversial' subject of conversion - and you know, we opened up a whole can of worms with that one!! of course, being an editor's daughter, i do enjoy reading the wonderful posts you bring on a variety of subjects... from conversion to bride burning... specially, "dowry" is a hot topic and dowry deaths are certainly of importance in a group dedicated to MOther goddess for women (for tha men,. too ) are indeed manifestations of Devi and any injustice meted out to them is not acceptable .... but, my concern is when topics like this are discussed (conversion, caste syatem, dowry deathsm female infanticide) etc - there is a 'lot of heat and passion' generated and before we know it the group can turn into a battleground with 'egos' taking over!!1 so, i do appreciate our beoved nora's efforts to keep us focussed on the 'bhakti ' aspect of shakti sadhana? waht do you think? or do you think we need to have a poll on this? love ps yogaman - please do not be offended ! you expressed your point of view and others did theirs! this what healthy exchange of ideas are all about!!! hindus are all not saints are as guilty of abusive practices and all muslims are not terrorists and all christians do not charity only with the mission of converting poor people !!! Guest guest
" …"Dowry" is a hot topic and dowry deaths are certainly of importance in a group dedicated to Mother goddess for women (for than men, too) are indeed manifestations of Devi and any injustice meted out to them is not acceptable.... but, my concern is when topics like this are discussed (conversion, caste system, dowry death female infanticide) etc - there is a 'lot of heat and passion' generated and before we know it the group can turn into a battleground with 'egos' taking over!! So, Thank you Adi Shakth16 for your concern, but frankly I think there is no need to. Personally any topic can be a hot topic, it is how we interpret and approach these issues. But we should not ignore or censored issues just because we have this fear of turning it into a "battleground". Sometimes it is good to bring it out and talk about it. It all depends on an individual. If they want to participate, then by all means, we have no problem with that. Each and every one of us is responsible for our own actions and the words we use will be the reflection of our personality. The hospital too is said to be the battleground. Infect the hospital is more dangerous than the battleground. There are two ways to approach an issue: Intellectually and Emotionally. Getting emotional to topics is nothing new, and as usual some may get egoistical about it. It depends on an individual too right! Perhaps they are just trying to put forth their ideas but in a different way. Some interpret it as being egoistic, but to that individual that is the only way he/she knows how best to do. The most important thing is to respect other person's opinion and try to detach ourselves from this emotional baggage or prevent ourselves from this emotional roller coaster, least we become like a stock market with emotional fluctuations all the time. This is what the whole forum is all about. And that is what I call intellectual discussion, to look at issues rationally and logically, and try not to allow our emotion cloud our judgments. "I do appreciate our Nora's efforts to keep us focused on the 'bhakti' aspect of Shakti sadhana?" I thank you for your kind words, but I did those because I have decided not to participate in the discussion. And also as an indication that the moderators are still around but doing our own stuff. But that does not mean I would stop others from participating. By all means go on if anyone still want to continue with it, just be respectful with each other that is all, our request as moderators. I thank you once again. Om ParaShaktiye Namaha
