Hello,

Here are some pictures from my altar room. They are taken from a

video so quality is a little bad. I need help in finding out more

information about my mother Rajarajeswari, which you can see is the

main deity in the house. The picture my family and I are praying to

is very rare, in the sense that she is not seating on a throne but on

a lion which looks majestic. I am interested to find out what her

form is called when she is presented like that. I also want to know

where I can get pictures of her in this form. Singapore doesn't have

it and also on the occasions I went to India, I couldn't find any.

The picture in my altar is about 35 years old. All the pictures I

have seen of her, she is presented on a throne. Also at the Sri

Rajarajeswari Peetam in Rochester where are the statues of MA brought

from .They are very beautiful. Thanks for you help people........ Jai

Ma.

dear ma's child,

thank you for posting the picture of your altar... but, for some

reason, it could not access that link... could you please verify and

repost the correct link again...

dear one, in KARNATAKA, where Sree Raja Rajeshweri is worshipped,

she is also known as *SIMHAVAHINI* ( THE ONE WHO RIDES THE LION) ....

here is a song that describes this....

a kriti of maharajah sri Jayachamaraja Wodeyar of mysore thus...

"ambujAkshi simhavAhini tripuTa

aMbaa shrI rAje'svari bhogavasanta Adi bAlakriSNaM nIlaveNi tripuTa "

please read the first two lines...

here devi(ambaa) is described as *abujakshi* - lotus eyed

simhavahini- one who rides the lion

in the next line, he addresses as shri "rajesvari" - empress of the

universe

so, dear one! *devi* has many forms - in her many forms, she can

have many vahanas or modes of transportation... such as LION etc...

hope this answers your question...

om sree raja rajeshwerayaii namaha !!!

Greetings Fellow Country Man

Thank you for the pictures of your alter. I can get access to it

without no problem. With regards to the pictures, have you ever try

the exocticindiaart.com. They have fantastic collections. Perhaps you

like to email me privately and I will be able to tell you more in

detail. Perhaps our beloved Sankara Menon ( who is an initiated Sri

Vidya ) will be able to furnish you with more information on

Rajarajeshwari.
