Sri Ramakrishna's attitude on suffering:

 

The Master said to Keshab while the latter was ill: "The gardener

sometimes exposes the roots of rose bushes, so that the dew may fall

upon them. Sometimes he trims off some of the roots, so that the

flowers may become larger. Perhaps the Lord is preparing you to do

greater works."
