Today is : Thiru Karthikai Deepam ( Wednesday November 20th )

This festival is celebrated in the month of Karthikai (October –

November) when the moon is in conjunction with the asterism Kritikai

(Pleiades).

 

What I normally do during Karthikai:

 

Cleaned the house, and special kolam is drawn infront of the house (

the main door ). Traditional oil lamps ( usually using ghee ) are

kept all over the house – both inside and outside ( place before

sunset ). Infront of the main door, six lamps place in a shape of a

star.
